For decades, we at Menhammmar have worked to create one of Sweden's foremost stud farms, a goal we are constantly trying to develop.
While this land has been home to one of Sweden’s most successful and prestigious studfarms for over 70 years, the farm itself dates back several centuries further.
Big Noon and Menhammar Stuteri
The stallion Big Noon was purchased in 1938 as a two-year-old and remained under the ownership of shipping magnate Olof Wallenius. Big Noon went on to become the most famous and beloved trotting horse of the 1940s, competing in the classic racing colours of Stall Segerhuva both in Sweden and abroad as World War II raged. Achieving the outstanding breeding and racing success that Menhammar Stuteri has enjoyed demands careful planning of crop cultivation, tasty and endurable pasture and the production of coarse fodder with the correct nutritional content. The farm is self-supporting in cattle forage and even produces almost all of horse forage. LEARN MORE ON THE MENHAMMAR GÅRD WEBSITE (in Swedish only) >>
