A World-Class Trotting Racing Weekend

So we have finally arrived at the week with a capital W — the Elitloppet weekend. Solvalla has truly succeeded in assembling a very strong field of starters with a high international standard. Particularly pleasing for Menhammar Stuteri is the fact that one of the stud’s own bred horses is among the sixteen invited competitors.

The six-year-old gelding {Fine Manners} will line up in the second Elitloppet heat from post position four behind the starting car’s wings. As is so often the case, he will be driven by Magnus Djuse and trained by his brother Mattias Djuse. The owner is Einari Videgren Oy, Finland. {Fine Manners} is by {Chocolatier} out of Behaving Well.

Naturally, we are keeping our fingers crossed for {Fine Manners} as he prepares to take on the world elite in the battle for the five million kronor first prize in the final. Also worth mentioning is that {Maharajah} has two offspring in the Elitloppet qualifying heats — {A Fair Day} and {Dream Mine}. Another noteworthy contender is Jobspost, an offspring of {Readly Express}, who stands at Menhammar Stuteri. It is undoubtedly a Sunday to look forward to for all trotting racing enthusiasts.

Also worth mentioning is that two horses bred at Menhammar Stuteri will take part in Saturday’s long-distance contest, Harper Hanovers lopp. Both {Erik the Phantom} and {Gaining Experience} are highly accomplished and very successful campaigners, and it will be most interesting to see what they can achieve against such exceptionally qualified opposition.

Menhammar Stuteri would like to wish all participants in Solvalla’s competitions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the very best of luck.

A considerable number of Menhammar-bred horses can be found in the starting lists over the three race days, and naturally we shall be keeping our fingers especially firmly crossed for them.

Menhammar would also like to wish all harness racing enthusiasts attending over the weekend — or following the competitions in other ways — a wonderful world-class harness racing weekend.
