Dreams, Champions, and the Hall of Fame!

As breeders, a year in harness racing brings countless moments of joy, often difficult to capture amidst the everyday grind. That’s why we compile an annual review, and once again in 2025 we can confirm that the highlights make all the hard work worthwhile!

Dream Mine was not bred at Menhammar, but this four-year-old colt carries Ekerö blood and has become the highest-earning Swedish-bred four-year-old of all time! Dream Mine claimed the Derby, the European Derby, and the Breeders Crown on his way to SEK 9.2 million in earnings. As a son of {Maharajah} with {From Above} as damsire, we are particularly proud of this achievement!

Regarding {Maharajah}, he claimed the title of stallion champion for the seventh time, and among all the classic victories, one feat truly stood out during the year. On 5 March at Solvalla, “Marre” had six winners in a single evening! According to statisticians, no breeding stallion had ever produced so many winners on one racing day, with triumphs taken by Steady Countess, Irony, Orso Nero Trot, Mellby Minerva, Patriot Zon, and Freako.

We also note {Calgary Games}’ sensational debut as a breeding stallion, whose first crop includes the star {Cruiser}, a filly who doesn’t know what it feels like to lose and has broken the Swedish record twice.

The year began, as usual, with the Horse Gala, where {Fame and Glory} was awarded Four-Year-Old of the Year 2024. He became Menhammar’s fifth Derby winner and made a comeback in 2025 after a 14-month racing break by winning at Vincennes!

Speaking of honours, {From Above} was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame, one of the most prestigious recognitions in Swedish harness racing, joining Margareta Wallenius-Kleberg, {Maharajah}, and {Readly Express} in this exclusive company.

Margareta’s Early Young Horse Series celebrated its ninth year in 2025! Over SEK 80 million has been awarded to owners without entry fees, and among this year’s winners were Knoxville (e. Nuncio), Pure Stella (e. Readly Express), and S.G.Empress (e. Readly Express), who triumphed twice! The first round of Margareta’s Early Young Horse Series 2026 will be held at Solvalla on 7 February.

Menhammar’s Million Club grew to 167 members during the year, with the fantastic broodmare {Laxvilja} contributing twice! Both {Gör som Jag Vill} and {Crussi Dull} became millionaires in 2025, while {Laxvilja} had previously produced {Buska Blyg}, {Envis}, and {Uggla i Mossen}, all with seven-figure earnings!
Also joining this exclusive club of millionaires in 2025 were {Fashion Monger}, {Fine Manners}, {Every Day Elegant}, {Big Shot}, {Drill}, {Floatilla}, and {Vicar}.

Menhammar OnlineSales was held for the sixth time and has helped transform the modern approach to buying horses. The auction was attended digitally by buyers from all major harness racing nations. This year’s top lot was {Jembe} (e. Maharajah u. Timbal), sold for one million SEK. We note, not without pride, that all horses offered found new owners, and we keep our fingers crossed for a successful and exciting future while thanking all buyers.
