From Above Inducted into the Trotting Hall of Fame 2025
The legendary trotting horse From Above has been inducted into the Trotting Hall of Fame 2025. Alongside driver Ulf Ohlsson and Norwegian trainer Geir Vegard Gundersen, he is one of this year’s three inductees into the prestigious collection of trotting’s greatest figures.

From Above, born in 1998 at Menhammar Stud and trained by Stefan Hultman, is one of Sweden’s most successful warmblood stallions of all time. He made history as the first horse to win the classic triple: the Swedish Trotting Criterium at age three, the Swedish Trotting Derby at four, and the Elitloppet at five. In total, he claimed 23 victories from 38 starts and earned 8.3 million kronor.
Beyond his sporting achievements, From Above has also had a major impact in breeding. He is the sire of stars such as Brother Bill, Pastore Bob, Marshland, and Orecchietti, and the maternal grandsire of Who’s Who.
The Hall of Fame induction was announced today, Friday 23 May, by the Nordic Trotting Museum at Solvalla in conjunction with the start of the Elitloppet weekend. The induction ceremony will take place in Årjäng—home to the Trotting Hall of Fame and the Nordic Trotting Museum—on 12 July during the V75 races there. The decision was made by a committee consisting of representatives from the Swedish Horse Racing Journalists’ Club (SHK) and the Norwegian Trotting Journalists’ Club (NTJK).
From Above’s place in the Hall of Fame affirms his unique status in Swedish trotting history—as a champion on the track and a refining force in breeding.
